Condo Owners Sue Their Board After Victoria's Secret and Burberry Charges Show Up on HOA Books

More than 65 of the 131 unit owners at The Residences at Villa Medici in Orlando sued their HOA board after discovering charges at Victoria's Secret, Burberry, and Macy's on the association's own accounts, along with contracts the owners say benefited the board director's own companies.

A judge froze the board's proposed $5,000-to-$10,000 special assessment while the case proceeds. The 131-page lawsuit seeks to remove the entire board, and it's part of a wider run of Florida condo-governance lawsuits in the years since the Surfside collapse pushed associations toward larger, more frequent assessments.
